Brockwell Park Restoration: August 2011
Friday 18 May 2012
Blakedown
Landscapes will begin the Heritage Restoration works including landscape and
buildings works from 25th July.
These improvement works will need to be carried out in stages until completion in
September 2012. The bulk of the works will take place during the winter months.
To ensure all levels of safety are met areas of the park will be closed off to
the public at certain times allowing works to take place unimpeded with the aim
of completing on time.
Stages of works
What to
expect during July and Aug 2011:
- Site Establishment: A number of temporary small compounds will need to be
erected within the park in certain places to house machinery.
- Underground drainage works will begin throughout the park and continue intermittently
until completion in May 2012. This will resolve flooding from the park to
surrounding streets, resolve water logging in areas of park and create a
means of sustainably topping up the ponds.
- External services: These include improvements to sewer and drainage connections.
- Paths and Paving works: Early works on upgrading of selected pathways. This will
continue intermittently until completion in September 2012.
