Monthly Saturday morning nature club for young people aged 7-12 years and their carers .
Date of next meeting: 4 February 2012 Time: 10am-noon Topic: This month we will be going on a trip to South London Botanical Institute to have a look at their Herbarium and get some tips for starting our collection of pressed specimens. Meeting point: Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses We will be leaving on foot at 10.15am so please try to be on time. We are a group of professional and amateur naturalists with an interest in the natural world from plants to bugs, mammals, birds and frogs. We want to be joined by children and parents/carers with a similar love of collecting conkers, pressing flowers, looking under logs and grubbing around in the dirt. Do you fit the bill? | South London Botanical Institute- Thursdays |
| The South London Botanical Institute is at 323 Norwood Road SE24 9AQ - just five minutes walk from the Park's Norwood gate. Entry is free and volunteers will be available to show you round.
As well as opening every Thursday from 10am to 4pm, there are open evenings on 2 February and 1 March - 6.30 – 8.00 p.m. The Institute will also open by appointment.
The SLBI was founded in 1910. It has a fine botanical library and an extensive and historic collection of dried plant specimens. Click here for more information |

Come and explore the delights of Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses during our autumn/winter opening hours from 12-4pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday afternoons
Don't be put off by the builders. We are still open albeit with somewhat restricted access. The Greenhouses are located between the Walled Garden and the Tennis Courts: pay us a visit. All welcome! |
